Tires Pirelli or Nokia
I run the Nokians from this video and have been happy with them.
Do your self a favor and buy a good set of studded snow tires, like Nokian Hakkapellitta’s for this drive. They’ll definitely save you some misery, and help keep you safe
I use OPD on my Bolt EUV 2023 and it works wonderfully so far. We've had tons of snow and all sorts of crappy road conditions lately in Southern Quebec (I live in the country, not the city), so I have a pretty good sampling. Reminds me when I had a manual transmission.
Ours is a tank. Running on Nokian R5s and compared to my old RS5 with winters, it’s as good as the Audi.
I have the Pirellis on one of my bikes and really like them. Plenty of grip and fairly quick for a 45mm tyre.
I run Pirelli Scorpion Winters on a dedicated set of rims. 3rd season now - absolutely stellar.
I have Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5s on my SQ8. Quiet and great in snow.
Finally found the cause of the random jumping and wiggling at speed. Had the wheel & tires balanced 2 times before finally deciding to change the set. The foam padding on the original factory pirelli tires has dislodged and was probably causing uneven balance.
Right now I have Pirelli P Zero / P Zero Nero in 245/40/18 on the stock wheels. I feel the car isn’t very precise in corners — probably because the sidewalls are too soft.
I'm ready to move on from my screaming Pirellis.
