Had one for work with a fuel card so never noticed economy that much.. LOVED the Van though!! Ours was RWD, fully optioned without leather. Bought it with 250k KM in 2007, sold it in ~2011 with 400k, and then I bought it back in 2014 with 443k KM... replaced the transmission at ~330k KM, other than that nothing ever went wrong.. until the end when I think the fuel injectors were leaking because it would always be flooded when starting cold.

OEM ACDelco drums solved the problem.
wraithkl626 wins this one; it appears that it was la bomba de agua . Cookie called me a few weeks ago and told me it was making the noise pretty consistently now. I went out and redid the belt-on/belt-off check, and the result was definitive that it was a belt-drive accessory problem. Based on the nature of the noise and what else had already been replaced, I felt that it had to be the water pump. I put the new one in today, and so far, so good.
2500 pads are a great pad, I dd those and have tracked with them. Carbotech makes great track pads that can be driven on the street, have a set on the Z06 and they take a beating at the track.
We have an '04 LT with the magentic shocks and it's a surprisingly good ride for a truck.
brakes are replaced by Raybestos Police purpose built brakes, and any other part, interior or exterior, is replaced as needed.
Stick with Michelin. They are the best.
My ultimate solution was to run some OEM GM HP tall valve covers with the factory baffle. The factory used a layered baffle design that is very effective for normal street use. Can't cut it with high G's and rev's associated with Autocross and Track Days though.
My 65 C10 had one. Not so fun when the bushings are shot and it pops out at light ,and you hold up traffic while you pop the hood.
On a side note, I literally had to destroy the Fram Filter to get it off the truck. I can now say never again.
