Falken Tires

Falken WinterPeak F-Snow 1. It's one of the cheapest winter tires - about $80/tire in the 195/65R15 size - but test results show it competes well with the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5, Continental VikingContact 7, and Michelin X-Ice Snow, which are the gold standards in premium winter tires. It looks like the Falken suffers a little with dry handling, so just don't drive your Corolla like a sports car. The Falken is still competitive in the wet, snow, and ice, which is where it really matters.

Pros: competitive in wet, snow, ice
Cons: suffers with dry handling

Denso AC compressor
vanhack1972
Rating 5.0
  • Cooling performance:
  • Engagement:

I got a brand new Denso compressor, which is the supplier to Toyota and many other brands from [buyparts24.com](http://buyparts24.com) for AED945, also bought a receiver/dryer and expansion valve for AED200ish more. I would like to keep the car longterm and have proper working AC, as sitting in the traffic AC and radio are more important than brakes and tyres.........LOL

Pros: proper working AC, long-term reliability
Vehicle: Toyota Camry

Falken Tires
muttinfancy
Rating 4.0
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:

I have been running 265/75/16's SL with 2 ply standard sidewall for the last 30k miles on a first gen tundra. I run them pretty hard on and off road, including airing down. I haven't had any issues and am hard pressed getting a much heavier tire since these have performed so well

Pros: performed so well, no issues
Cons: not lasting as long
Mileage: 48280 km

Duralast Brake discs
Ok_Illustrator_2951
Rating 4.0
  • Braking:
  • Vibration:

My '21 brakes started shaking around 20K miles as well. I installed Dynamic Friction coated rotors and ceramic pads from Rockauto. They have lasted longer than the stock OEM brakes with similar performance.

Pros: Longer lasting, similar performance
Cons: Shaking brakes
Vehicle: Toyota Highlander
Mileage: 20000 km

POWER STOP Brake discs
AStokedSurfer
Rating 4.0
  • Braking:
  • Noise:

We had the first instance of warped rotors at 15k and the dealer resurfaced them under warranty. Then at 25k it sounded like a NYC subway train pulling into the station at slow stops. Returned to the dealer to be told that they wouldn't work on the brakes again without us replacing the pads and rotors on our dime. I believe the rotors were getting glazed. Decided to go with the PowerStop drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads, replaced them at home and we've been very happy for another 10k. Improved brake performance and as quiet as can be.

Pros: Improved braking, quiet operation
Cons: Warped rotors, noisy brakes
Vehicle: Toyota Highlander
Mileage: 25000 km

Pradar Tires

I put a set of my Camry and they are by far the loudest tires I've ever had. I'm strongly considering replacing them. They also get rotated every oil change and it doesn't seem to help.

Cons: loudest tires ever
