Even with these cheap Giti tires I have about 80% less wheel spin in snowy conditions compared to normal \"Street\" mode in same conditions. Turning a corner, the stability is enhanced and feels safer.

Just took it for my first drive on snowy Boston roads. Slushy really, barely an inch. My impression so far is snow mode clearly retards the Tig's throttle and seems to start in 2nd gear, limiting torque. It feels fairly solid and I didn't feel much slip, even on my own unplowed street.

I'm running 5qt 5W40 full synthetic oil (Castrol Edge, to be specific). The oil is changed yearly cause I never get close to the 10k miles suggested by VW for an oil interval.

Those tanks are cheap and very easy to replace, also if you don't get a lot of air in your system they work just fine. So slap a new one in there and no worries.

The rear brakes will be an absolute nightmare. There is not a lot of room. As far as I am aware, MK6/MKV R/R32 brakes are the same, so... prepare yourself for a miserable time doing the rear rotors. The rear pads are fine. The rotors suck ass.
