Put my 16" golf oem rims and general artimax tires on last night. So far very happy with the road noise and handling even in 60 degree temps here in NJ.
Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen
I have the Michelin A/S 3s on my MKVI and am very happy with them, they replaced the OEM Contis that came with the car at around 40K.
I put over 40k on my p zero tires with the mk6, I know people dog then but I was glad to get them again with my mk7.
Voltage regulator is built into the alternator. If you're seeing 14.5 V with the engine running it's as good as it is going to get.
So, fitted most of the new bushings to the front suspension. Still need to do some of the things, but at least most of it is done.
What I can tell you is that the AS 3's have eliminated all the road noise, my handling is vastly improved, and they grip like hell - I used to get chirps when I would floor it off the start between DSG shifts. Not anymore!!
I also have the Pirelli Cinturato P7 on my wife's MK6 Jetta and I like them very much as well. They are just as quite and smooth as the Michelins on my CC.
I can only speak to my new Michelin Sport AS/3 . I find them to be great and a much better tire than the original Conti's.
I have a header, no cat, full 3in, a 16in glasspack, and a 16in borla xr-1. As you can see from this video, its still loud.
I wanted to give you guys a little insight on my recent discovery. I have always changed my oil @ 10K miles, using mainly pentosin and Hengst or mann filters. On occasion when I don't have time to wait for oil to ship to me, I've used German Castrol and autozone filters (either STP, Fram or Mobil 1). The picture below is what my mobil 1 oil filter looked like after 9K miles w/ German Castrol. Mind you I have NEVER had a Hengst/Mann/Fram/STP look like this when changing my oil. Another tid bit of info, My oil was much blacker this oil change than it has ever been.
