2018 SE with VR6 engine and Nokian Hakkas. Great in the snow!
Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen
I'm using oem ngk plugs changing every 2nd oil change so around 16,000km
Just spent early winter in Vermont with tons of snow and my '24 cross sport. I used snow mode just to be sure but I had no problems whatsoever. I should mention, however, that I put Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractives on mine in November 2024 for that years' Vermont trip. Those tires and the Atlas Cross Sport is definitely the best handling I have ever had in snow. I drove 600 miles across the northeast in a winter storm without fear if that helps.
I drive winters in Alberta Canada, on the mountain side, mostly. I have a 23 full size and have never had better performance in winter conditions. Same with mud - we like bus camping. Mine is on Sailun A/T tires, bought it that way. I’ll definitely be seeking these tires out when it’s time to replace.
I started using WIX/Napa Gold about 2 years ago for all our vehicles, including the German ones (BMW & VW). Have had no issues and after I learned that they were owned by Mann I stopped caring.
I have Bridgestones in my GTI in 17s with 215/50r17 and obviously don't feel as sporty as 19s but they're great for winter.
I've tried 3 brands of aftermarket wiper blades that claimed to fit the rear wiper of the ID4 and none did.
One was a Trico I bought from Amazon and when I requested a return in the app, Amazon refunded it and told me to keep it. I just cut off the plastic chunk at the end that prevented it from fitting and made it work (it stays in place but fits "sloppy".)
I did an oil change with liquimolly 5w-40 and added liquimolly lifter additive, and drove it for a week hoping it would go away.
greetings 72 bug with rarely used new bosch starter/solenoid(play car not daily drive) walmart battery just went out of warranty and battery tester shows about 76% health. turn the key and i get clunk from starter. after about 15 clunks it will fire up. if i top off battery with charger it will fire up every time. about hour later it is back to clunk clunk clunk, vroom. digital cig socket voltmeter shows mostly about 14v down the road depending on speed. 'smart charger' says cell fault but battery checker says recharge. new battery needed?
I'm convinced the MK6 just has shitty brakes (I mean they do stop but I think they're just bad). I've had 2 of them and they both wear unevenly, hang up, or just in general wear out too quickly.
