I've been using Castrol Edge 5w-40 for years and have had good results, but wondering what others are using. I initially used Mobil1 0w-40 but got a lot of lifter noise which disappeared after switching to Castrol.
I typically run the NGK Iridium plugs. Plug number: BPR6EIX I have run them for a long time and I love them. I messed around with different heat range plugs but for a stock alternative, I love them
I can say I still keep an original 1990 G60 Corrado Mannesman Sachs clutch kit around to compare to newer ZF Sachs clutch kits. The older ones are thicker metal for the pressure plate shell and its friction surface, the newer ZF Sachs is thinner metal, but I use them because we have no time machine to get NOS 1990s parts.
The front and rear bearings were replaced, new rotors and calipers for both, with mk4 rear calipers and the larger 11.3” driver’s edition calipers and rotors from the brake bible, with their new lines, pads
The 12.3 mk4/TT setup is great for my all other driving. Hell they were great even with my corrado and caddy trailer loaded (4,500+ lbs) on a 7,500+ lap around the USA.
Rear Calipers -Bosch Pads
I have run Wilwoods on my Corrado for years with the usual rebuilding every two years. Even with ABS under full braking using the BP10 pads it would occasionally lock up fully and blow a cogged belt off the supercharger.
I just had satelite do my G60 windshield. It came with both side moldings, and the installer made the top edge to match the original piece. The outer surround moulding can still be found through vwheritage, but only one or two more left. This is the main issue that i have found; ETKA shows several blocks that are used to align the glass. This is the most crucial part because if none are used it is easy for the glass to slide down enough to create a gap larger than the outer molding is designed for. This is my case, the outer molding will not stay anywhere along the top edge and you can see a gap in the top outer edges. This is just a warning to anyone who has an install done, make sure the outer moulding will stay put along the top edge of the glass. I checked this before the tech left and it was fine, next day it was no longer working. A few spacers at the bottom of the windshield will go a long way to ensure a proper fitment. I can pull up and post the illustration from etka if needed. Tomorrow they can pull the window and install it correctly.
Did a liqui moly engine flush with no result. But still burning oil.
I pumped the pedal 100 times but they were still spongy. My worn-out original brakes were better.
