Range between fill-ups:

If you run a mk3 cluster it is wise to also run the mk3 fuel tank so your gauge reads correctly.

Brightness:

I purchased these lights 2 weeks ago. Received them in only three days. I'm extremely happy with the transaction and the item itself. Works great and a definite improvement over the stock lights.

Braking:

I upraded from mintex red pads and stock rotors to hawk hps pads and brembo cross drilled and slotted rotors and what a world of difference.

Pros: world of difference

Braking:

The MKIV is definitley biased towards the rear. A grippy pad like Ferodo DS2500 up front helps a lot!

As for oil, I suggest using Mobil 1 0w40. They recently started carrying this in town and my mpg has improved with it.

I have Ate rotors and Mintex Redbox on my Golf 2.0 and it stops well...no brake dust and the bite is much better than stock pads although it could still use a lot of improvement though.

Pros: stops well, better bite

Cons: still needs improvement

Braking:

I'll put it to you this way, you will need brakes when you are done with the track session. I warped several sets of rotors on my old 2.0 Golf during track days.

Pros: great learning experience

Braking:

mintex red-box suck, you want a set, I'll give you mine. I have had mine for about a week they are ok for grandma style braking, but once you really get on them, you are srewed for an hour (of light braking).

Pros: ok for grandma braking

Cons: suck, bad performance
