My 2017 original battery stayed alive for 8 years and 148k miles fascinated me how long it lasted and the fact that the auxiliary battery is still fine
Reviews of spare parts for Volvo
I run Blizzaks on my XC70 in the winter, and it's a utter MONSTER in the snow. I've embarrassed 4WD vehicles with good tires on snowy forest roads. I went into the mountains early season last year with just the all-seasons on after a minor snow event (a couple inches, plows had been through) and skidded slightly off a plowed gravel road onto a soft shoulder. Never would have happened with the Blizzaks, I'd just been lazy and hadn't put them on yet - they got put on later that afternoon. I don't notice much of a gas mileage hit that the winter fuel blend doesn't mostly account for anyway.
I run Blizzaks all winter on 18" wheels. I ended up with those because when I bought the vehicle in Nov 2015 I asked for snow tires, because Alaska. Well, the dealer didn't have any in 20", in fact the whole town was sold out of them. The dealer made us a deal with new wheels and snow tires in 18". It has been handy, my husband swaps them in the driveway and I'm only on my second set of Blizzaks.
The factory battery in my 2007 S60R lasted just under 10 years, and I thought that was remarkable. Much more expensive than an auto store battery though but you get what you pay for I guess
I just replaced my 2012 Volvo XC 60 battery. The car has 155k miles and the battery lasted for over 13 yrs. I drive in cold weather for over 6months/yr.
I bought the Yokohama BlueEarth winter tires. They worked great. They also meet the traction requirements for things like mountain passes. I didn't notice any change in gas mileage. During COVID we weren't driving much so I just left them on all year and didn't have any issues.
my dishwasher has around 200 mile motorway range on a 64kWh net battery, which'll get me from Oxford to Darlington on a single charge, I could get to Newcastle if I camp behind a truck for most of it. My car is also stupidly inefficient for an EV, better EVs like a ID.3 or Megane could go further with smaller batteries.
My AWD Volvo sedan came with Pirelli All Season tires. Even have the official VO on the sidewall : made just for Volvo.
Volvo Pirellis are trash.
Our used XC90 came with Pirelli 21s (assuming OEM, car has 47k miles), which are very noisy. I've dealt with it for over a year
