This just happened to me last month on my 2017 C43 on the OEM battery. I guess five years is typical on these newer MB.

I don't like MBs organic brake pads, I went ceramic and have nearly eliminated all brake dust and good stopping power. I do, very much so, love my MB rotors.
Maybe 6-7 years on my current Mercedes ones. Still wipe like new. Well over 100k miles. Cars are stored outside in the sun.
My wife’s ML350 is among the easiest vehicles to maintain that I’ve ever worked on. The transmission and engine oil pans both have drains in easily accessible locations. Oil filter can be removed by hand and it up top. The air box doubles as an engine cover and pops off with 2 latches.
The European cars had the better light technology. The housings and bulbs were 30 years ahead of time compared to what we got in the states.
You can clean it and put it back, but make sure the voltage is fine. This happened to a mercedes I was driving and it caused voltage spikes every time the engine would have a change in rpms.
main repairs i did were timing chain & just had to replace both fuel pumps today…. As long as you get routine maintenance & drive it good it will last
My alternator installer checked it out, said they installed the pulley wrong. There was something that was supposed to be tightened down that wasn't. The metal around the pulley sheared off maybe a quarter inch or so, pouring out the oil i saw and causing the wobble, or the wobble caused the shear, and the belt came off.
Rear differential blew up after putting 30K miles on it and the dealership wants 5K for repairs
Lot of work had to be done the past 12 months - intercooler replacement, front upper AND lower control arm, transmission flush, NOx sensors…
