I have a 2013 Jetta that calls for 5W-40. I only use oil filters purchased directly from Volkswagen, and I only use Castrol oil. I've had positive results doing this
I am not sure if you can and have a place to do it on your own but I bought oil vacuum pump couple years ago and changing oils myself since then. I have a Volkswagen and oil filter easily accessible from the top.
Front strut mounts: at 8947 miles. Only happened after warm up. Covered under warranty has not happened since.
Had my Tiguan for 3 years with no issues. Never had anything hit my windshield.
On a Jetta, it will leave you stranded, and it being a VW, the symptoms will be nothing like a dead battery, most likely.
Well she ran out of free oil changes at VW and so I went online to research which oil is recommended to use in the VW and found that just to buy the filter and enough oil that meets the VW specification requirements would cost close to $80. I can buy the stuff to do an oil change in the Lexus for less than $30
Just have a couple rock chips now in my windshield, one is quite bad. Luckily, they haven’t cracked yet but I did have to replace my windshield earlier this year.
cracked the windshield right away must be junk
on windshield #2 after tractor kicked up gravel from side of highway. Was surprised as I never had that experience after driving many cars for decades.
