I personally dont like the single mass ones they tend to have clatter the dual mass is smoother and is what came from the factory.
Reviews of Sachs parts For Business
Germany
As for noise, stock! actually since the flywheel is brand slpankin new it is quieter than stock. Absolutely no chatter and no gear noise.
My mechanic recommended Sachs shocks.
I installed the transmission last night, and bled the clutch and everything is buttery smooth....smoother then I remember before - even when the car was new. I drove from Boulder to Aspen this morning, and the shifting was buttery smooth even with my Diesel Geek short shift kit.
I was just doing a bunch of reading and stumbled upon this "RSR" Kit from HS Tuning. It is supposed to feel much like stock VW clutch (with just a bit more bite) and have none of the chatter and such that heavy duty aftermarket clutches supposedly do (like SB clutches I hear).
On a well engineered kit like Sachs SRE, so far my experience is that it makes clutch engagement point a bit higher and makes disengagement feel more predictable.
I am APR stage 2 + and have had the sachs kit for about 6000 miles now. Never a problem and just as quiet as stock from day 1. A little more effort pushing the clutch in but no big deal.
I just changed front shocks and coil springs at 115,000 mls because one spring broke somehow. Check germanautoparts.com, I got Sachs from them.
application is for 87 16v scirocco with 210mm 28 spline clutch. non dampened is cheaper and i would think it would mean it does not have the center springs in it but all the pics always shows that both discs have the springs. so does anyone know the difference? or has anyone used the non dampened without any ill effects?
I ran the Performance kit and by 4 months in it was slipping badly. This is after a break in period of 500mi (city driving) before running any significant power through it. I don't beat on the clutch by launching it or dropping it. I kept the OEM flywheel with this kit. It's also very heavy, and you definitely feel it in the pedal. Overall I wasn't satisfied with this kit.
