The brand three five, or 555 makes very high quality ball joints and is, or at least was, the oe maker for Toyota. They are Japanese made and very nice.
Owner reviews for ball joint
My 02 had the recall done somewhere around 2017. Seems to be holding up Great!
I went with moog when I lifted my truck almost 40k miles ago by now. I’m not saying everyone else is wrong with OEM, but I’m not dead yet
I paid like 230 for oem Lbjs from Toyota on Amazon. Then 20 for the bolts from my local dealer
Buy the parts oem from ourismantoyotaofrichmond.com, they are a Toyota dealership that specializes in selling parts based out in Virginia, they sell the ball joints for $120 each and outer tie rods for $75 each the tie rods are a little pricey, maybe you can look at other dealerships, but the ball joint price is hard to beat for oem.
Used Duralast gold ball joint on older toyota. It was ok. Replaced their grease fitting and used existing nut but otherwise ok.
D40 navaras and the equivalent path finders. Broken cranks, ball joints every 30k, timing chain stretch, egr faults aplenty. Many oil leaks.
I installed Moog ball joints before I did any research. They were shot when I went to replace them with OEM at about 7K miles.
Generally love moog, but had a set of ball joints fail on my ram after less than 10k miles. Worse than dodge factory parts.
I can attest to the drop in Moogs quality lately. Those ball joints just aren't as good as they used to be.
