Caliper kits are easy to find for your Lucas calipers, just look for a TRW kit.
Owner reviews for brake caliper
I have Powerstop calipers and their Geomet rotors in all 4 corners of my XJ (probably pads too, don't remember), and I have power stop pads on my Caprice PPV (they are the cop special ones). Good experience overall. The caprice ones are really squeaky for one stop after any rain or fog, but fine after that. XJ is being rebuilt, so I have not driven it yet.
So if you don't want to spend all that money on the full setup, a Mk7 Golf R caliper is direct bolt on fit to the Arteon. I spent $200 for calipers on EBay, $100 for a rebuild kit, $80 for new OE pads and $40 to reline the discs. Bolted right up.
I've got Hella calipers for my E39 and can't say anything negative.
If you get a wilwood superlite caliper, the pads will be cheaper and are 20mm thick. They aren’t a top of the line caliper but should be more than enough. Also you can run endurance pads. I use raybestos st43 although those seem hard to get now. Pagid rsl29 or ebc sr11 will be endurance pads with similar or slightly less mu.
I have wilwood's forged dynapro 6 brake calipers and the pads wildwood suggest for that setup and I stop on a dime ngl but even when I had a stock FiST the braking never seemed to crazy tho
Now the adjustment of the caliper is very similar to a slack adjuster. You turn the adjuster clockwise till snug and back off half a turn. The main difference is most Bendix calipers you need to use the shear adapter because what looks like an E-Torx head is actually an 11 point designed to only fit the shear adapter. So people will sometimes round them off where they won't adjust. If you are turning the adjuster and it won't adjust, sounds like it could be time for a new caliper.
I replaced both rear calipers, pads and both electro mechanical parking brake motors on my 2009 Tiguan. Now the yellow 'P' dashboard symbol is always on.
Didn't realize that the brembos won't clear the estorils. Wheel weights will hit the caliper and the spokes will also hit the caliper body. I guess more of any fyi to the group.
Had them installed and im quite underwhelmed. Sloppy paint work and having clips not even color matching is making me want to put my stock ones back on.
