When this happened to me, I had to just bite the bullet and get the mishimoto radiator. Now my Z runs slightly on the cooler side and it’s amazing.

Denso and other OEM for me. When insurance wanted to throw Napa parts at my radiator replacement destroyed by a napping squirrel in the fan assy, I ponied up the difference to go with the Denso and mechanic confirmed it was a solid choice.
I went to the same thing this past summer(vegas) until I changed to koyo rad.
I replaced mine with a Nissens and it’s been working great for over a year. The way the drain plug felt when I installed it was a bit concerning though.
Aisin water pump, Mitsuboshi or Bando belts, and replace the radiator as a preventative measure with a Denso unit.
Another vehicle the rad got low and the stream pretty much melted the top where it connected to the hose. New rad was on backorder and I needed a car so I cut the melted but off at a clean angle and attached a chunk of ABS pipe using high-temp JB weld which I reattached the hose too after it set. I regularly checked it over the next 1-2 weeks until the shop got a new rad in and had no issues.
put a mahle radiator (this is the original brand for the radiator on e46) and very satisfied with that.
The OEM radiator becomes brittle. I replaced the radiator in 2016 with a new Honda radiator. I’ve put 50,000 miles on it. So it lasted 8 years and 50,000 miles. Not toooo bad.
Had the same problem in my '95 miata OEM radiator. The discoloration is a sign the plastic is deteriorating.
I bought a mishi three weeks ago, it arrived a week later, leaking. Two weeks later, mishi gave me a new one for free. Guess what.. it’s leaking too, from the welds at the neck. I gave up and had my buddy seal it up good
