Nissens is top notch, not cheap aftermarket stuff.
Owner reviews for engine radiator
Nissens if you prefer to buy a new one, mine has been solid for over 5 years. I like the late model until '91 7/9 all metal Blackstone ones too if you're thrifty, I hoard them. I figure a metal rad won't just blow up and leave you stranded like a plastic end tank one will.
The nissens one. Yes they have plastic side tanks, but they're still good for 8-10 years. (Realistically you probably won't have the car that long) Replace it preventively. Very good for the price. If you go fully metal it'll corrode instead of pop so may as well get the one that's a fraction of the price and will pop 10 years from now. It's a quality unit and is the only direct no modification drop in replacement still available to my knowledge. Even has the thermal switch installed that was for some models with a auxiliary electric push fan.
I replaced my stock blackstone a few months ago with a Nissens from Rockauto. I am happy with it.
I got a Denso for my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7L V8 and it has been fantastic, great quality and in good shape upon delivery. Vehicle ran 5-7°F cooler than before the radiator leak that initiated the replacement
I bought a Koyorad radiator for my 2003 Toyota Sequoia and worked out perfect!
I recently replaced the radiator on my 2002 Toyota 4Runner and used a Denso replacement part. It looks identical to the original.
Right now I've got a 2015 Polo GTI 7 speed. It's got about 100,000ks, I'm the second owner. In the year or so since I've had it, apart from normal things like brake pads, I've replaced: Radiator
My NISSEN didn't last 2 years before it failed catastrophically on the plastic side tanks.
I have Mishmoto ( dont recommend) on my 2016 wrx in Arizona at 110 days w the Ac on it runs at 190-197 on the streets. While on the freeway its at 215 avg while cruising at 80mph. Been on my car since 2017 I think. But this was before CSF and whatnot came around. Can’t wait to save up and switch.
