I’d high recommend doing an oil change with 10w30, putting on a factory oil filter (they’re about $10 at the dealer and come with a crush washer), and seeing how it behaves then. I recommend factory filters because for some very odd reason, I had less (or no) lifter tick when I used factory filters vs. aftermarket.

i DIY or pay a subaru specialty shop for a change, we both use motul, genuine filter, crush ring, just they do oil samples for me cause i dont feel like that hassle
I use Pennzoil 0W-30 Euro Platinum, and a Castrol CAS3593 filter every time, and change my oil every 6000kms which is about 3728 miles. I have heard good things about the efficiency of the Castrol filters.
MANN 811/80 or O.E. oil filter exclusively to maintain oil pressure as designed by Hyundai engineers.
I use Motocraft oil filter also available there.
Use full synthetic Mobil one or Castrol Change every 7k miles. And the oil filter too.
I got a few Fram Endurance filters based on what people at Bob’s say. The filter uses full syn media rated for 25000 mi (whatever) vs. cellulose, and has a good efficiency in catching finer 20 micron particulates.
Fwiw, a lot of bmw guys have problems with certain filters that are slightly too long for the housing and compress/bow out. I think fram was the culprit on the n54.
The 3 best oil filters for your money in no specific order are: WIX, Purolator, NAPA Gold. Modil 1 is also decent quality. I can't recommend the " orange can of death" fram silver and gold or okay quality but I'm not a fan. Just please avoid the orange fram and STP Was decent in the 80's but not worth the money nowadays. Even the Walmart brand (super tech) is at least made by AC DELCO and of okay quality.
I'd rather ram it then Fram it
