If you change the plugs; use the recommended plugs. I used Bosch Double Iridiums in my truck and they've worked good for 4 years now.
At around 120,000 KM plan for spark plugs. It's easy, especially if you get a 1/4" torque wrench and 14mm 1/4 deep well socket.
DENSO ZXE24HLR7 is also an excellent OE plug.

I just picked up 6 Bosch dual electrode double iridium spark plugs from autozone near me and threw them in. Fires great!
Many generators come from the factory with Torch spark plugs which are recognized as inferior so many folks recommend immediately changing out the Torch for the appropriate NGK plug to remedy hard starting.
I already replaced the spark plugs with the Denso ones I listed though... Is this bad?
I had the same experience and ended up getting a code. Swapped them out back to AC Delco and never had an issue.
Please use original plugs for the replacements. Just yanked out aftermarket NGK platinums because of a misfire. For some reason, Mazda and aftermarket plugs in my experience always resulted in a misfire.
