Oil filter Mann or Mobil
I usually buy my own oil and filter the 20k mileage mobile one brand and have a shop do it for 20 but I’m 500 miles away from home. I change it at 10k miles just to be sure. I’m away from home to often to change every 3-5k miles so this 20k mileage stuff is great and haven’t had a single issue!
Now I pay only for oil and filter, about 60 bucks use Mobil 1 full synthetic European Formula.
I'm going to use [this kit](https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mini-oil-change-kit-5w-40-liqui-moly-molygen-11427512446kt-lm) in our R52(base model) we just got. I use the same oil in our R57s, and the Purflux filter(OEM?). When you change your oil you send back the used oil, filter, gasket and drain plug/washer and get a full refund credit to purchase parts or your next oil change kit, after the first one. That kit uses a Mann filter. They are a good brand, used them for years in my VWs
Mann makes the best fitting one that I can tell. I ordered a Mahle filter once and the inner diameter seemed larger than it should be leading me to think it’ll let oil past without filtering. The Mann was nice and snug the way it should’ve been.
Mobil 1 extended performance 0W-20 engine oil with Mobil 1 m110a filter. You can go to Walmart and read what fits on your model year civic. The oil you should be sticking to is any synthetic and appropriate filter and change every 5k miles.
Used M1-104A, as recommended here, last week. No leaks, fit perfect
Mobil1 European Car Formula, MB Filter.
Mobil 1 Mobil 1 filter. At 260,000 or over in 3 different vehicles. Never an issue
You want to stick to a reasonable quality of part. OE spec would be ideal. I won't use Crossland, Mann is the lowest I'll go.
Mobil 1 filters are made by Champion Labs, which they use a louvered center core. The downside is, consistency, as the louvers have a tendency to be not be completely punched open.
