I\u2019ve got Firestone weathergrip from the previous owner of my Outback wilderness and they have been great in the snow for our commute in Lake Ontario snow belt.
Apparently something about plastic parts which is wild for a thermostat anyways, also the cvts aren't a problem really just service and drain fill your fluid 30k miles.
Since passing the 200,000 mark, I've replaced all of the brake calipers because the originals looked really crusty at this point and a couple of them had seizing issues.
I have an SJ and have extensively looked into the options. I’m going to get another set of Subaru OE. They are inexpensive, last 100-150tkm and the ride is not perfect but well balanced imo.
La driver here. I run advan v601s year around. Great performance even in the few days it rains.
I went with a Koyorad radiator from rock auto and then I also replaced the inlet and outlet hoses with OE. A new OE radiator cap, too. Subarus are fairly sensitive to cooling system parts, so for any mechanical bits (cap, water pump, thermostat, etc) I highly recommend spending on OE.
First road trip the window developed a stress crack with no sign of impact on/near the crack. Dealership took pics and submitted to Subaru. They decided to cover a new windshield under warranty (as they should).
Factory brakes in my 2021 we’re pretty low quality, lasted about 3 years.
I am in almost the same exact position (just under 10k miles, finished a 1000 mile road trip and now I get clicking when crawling slowly with the wheel fully turned either way). I totally forgot about this common issue with the LCAs from the TSB. I stupidly thought it started happening because I recently did the Brembo upgrade with the 2 piece rotor and since the track got wider that it was putting more stress on the CV, but a defective LCA makes more sense. I just hate bringing my car to the dealer because i am very much not stock.
Had both LCAs replaced a little over a year ago. I have noticed the clicking sound has returned so I probably need to take it back in.
