Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen
Bosch Icon are my go to
My 17 S is sitting at 108k. Only issues I’ve had outside of normal maintenance has been a water pump at 102k and cam magnets at 103k. It’s been the model of reliability and its nearly still as tight as it was when new.
the WeatherTech's I have for my Mk8 cover behind the accelerator pedal..... And whereas the WeatherTech's on my Mk7 GTI delaminated around the right heel area, these new Mk8's are made of a single layer of TPU and won't do that. I don't care for the honeycomb OEM ones, they get hazy-dirty and are difficult to clean down in all the nooks and crannies, no matter what the climate or season. I like how the WeatherTechs don't have so many contours to clean in and around, they're primarily rubber tubs. Perfect for this sloppy time of year in Michigan.
Can go wrong with Mann filters.
Maintenance is king on these cars. They also need to be driven hard every blue moon as well. I’ve been is38 stage 2 since 42k. Currently at 173k with no issues outside of the standard waterpump which was replaced at 125k.
Shocks/struts will go soon on this first.
Tbf the b6 passat will probably rust away just by existing before the engine gives up. That being said, 1.4tsi engine is not great not terrible. Many problems with them are caused by lack of maintenance and by cheap oil filters.
RIKNE TURBINA
So I've changed out my original fuel pump (Pierburg) on my 90 Corrado back in Jan 2024. Replaced it with the Delphi complete unit with pump and sender. Now less than 2 years later I need a new pump.
