My wife's Cabriolet has Akebono pads, front and rear. Pedal is firm, stops fine.
Reviews of spare parts for Volkswagen
I replaced my coil around the same time, and no start failures for me either.
I did Stoptechs in the front and Golf R rears, I canyon carve in it and the brakes are legit. Heavy, heavy repeated braking, no fade.
Especially since upgrading to ADB (adaptive driving beam) headlights. Dynamic Light Assist (DLA) in VW speak. Best mod ever. If you drive at night, this is a game changer for night vision, spotting deer etc.
Now I have a 19 R DSG, and I've tracked it twice (Summit Point and VIR) with nothing more than new rotors, Ferodo brake pads and Motul 500 fluid. I never had any overheating issues with either the brakes or the oil, but both weekends were cooler weather.
I ended up grabbing a set of rainx blades and they have been good for almost 8 months now and the majority of it. Was in snowy wet weather.
I can confirm, I had to change the rack on my 2001.5 Passat because the steering wheel was loose and they are in fact interchangeable.
second oil change i used 0w-30 with a KN oil filter and it felt like it had more torque off the line. It could just be a placebo effect but that's what I feel.
Shaking issues happened around 20k. Replace the front rotors 526+ tax, and rear rotors need to be replaced soon (30k)... The quality of the OEM part is not good
No, I just spent $2,500 on my 2015 Tiguan, replaced fuel pump, engine harness, n80 valve, crankshaft sensor, cleaned carbon build up....and I had the car back for 2 days and it stalled again...I'm pissed....time to sell and NEVER buy a VW again!
