Performed the test of the fans and noticed the main fan running really slow, so pulled it, tore it down, and the heat issues stopped.
I put Cinturato P7 All Season Plus's on my mother's Tiguan and overall these seem very good. They are noticeably quieter than my Michelins on coarse roads. Performance is good, but they seem to be wearing a little quicker than anticipated
Same for winter tires, where I've owned Michelin, Pirelli and Continental ExtremeWinterContact, and by far I like the Conti's followed by Michelin and I'll never own another set "ever" of the Pirelli Sottozero.
Currently running GTRadial Chamiro UHP1 tires and am about to install my 2nd set. They are CHEAP and almost as good at the Direzza Star Specs on my Porsche. I was shocked I got 20k miles out of them, they grip really well and don't get greasy easily at the track.
I'm guessing I'll probably be able to get about 25k miles out of my PSS.
Just thought I'd come back and post what I found to possibly help others. New coil packs solved the issue. All of them were in pretty rough shape when I took them out. Picked up new packs from the stealer for $60 a piece. Also bought the NGK BKR7E's, Gapped to .28 best I could. Fuel economy has returned thankfully, and low end performance is great. The turbo seems to be building boost a little more easier, and it takes less throttle to get the car accelerating. Can floor it from 2500 rpm to the limiter at 6900 without any hesitation, hiccups or blips in power.
Original owner of a mk6 R here :wave: my R has ~50k miles on the clock. lightly modded (see sig) and I have never had any issues other than normal wear stuff. plugs/oil/filters u know. car still feels very close to new.

My stock ones clean well, but they squeak like none other.
At this point it's only showing symptoms after idling for 30 seconds or more (and even then not every time), like while waiting at a stop light. Only in first gear, second and beyond have no hesitation. This evening I swapped out the almost new Denso plugs (correct gap) and the problem seems absent.
