I replaced my plugs with NGKs about 10k miles ago, I got them on amazon for about $12 a plug I think, engine runs great with them.

Jim was not happy with the stiff set up and changed it to use Koni's. Koni's had much lighter rebound damping which Jim liked.
I have H&R race springs and bilstien sports on my GTI right now. They handle great and ride very very nice.
I've actually got the FK hightec springs/koni str.t combo, and love it. handles great, and (imo) looks really good.

I decided to go with Castrol GT LMA. It was reasonably priced and should do the job just fine.
I just put on Hawk HP pads today on drilled & slotted rotors, and did a proper bed-in procedure. When they're heated up, they do stop nicely - however, they do completely lack the initial bite of the OEM brakes
You wanna avoid mintex red box these days. The passat pads have a slight problem with burning up under hard braking.
