about ten years ago, when my Beetle was my DD, I used nothing but Bosch Super (the cheap copper ones) and never had an issue.

The mk4 aluminum oil pan has a better oil distribution baffling blah stuff. the steel ones dont. However, comma, if you are low and scrape a lot then I wouldnt recommend the aluminum ones. Steel is a lot sturdier. Just get whatevers available imo.
When I switched to NGK's it seemed to run better
Here in Canada, the price for a standard Phaeton windshield (one that is tinted, but does not have the metallic infra-red resistant film in it) is about $600, which is pretty typical for a full size car or truck windshield.

i run it in my vr, 5w 30, full synthetic, it's nice
ok i just did an oil change today. i put in Elf Excellium 10W50 Full Synthetic. anyways, the difference is awesome. much more free reving and "wanting to go faster" feeling. before oil change it felt tired and revs were lazy and engine had a 'fuzzy' sound when accelerating. anyways, all is good now
the k&n filter does get dirty quite quick but as long as u dont neglect it your golden.
I've tried this filter and it produced lots more startup rattle from the lifters. Something to watch out for when trying it out.
