Hmm, I find my Golf TDI brakes to be excellent. Havent tracked them, but have punished them on occasion with liberal use of power on the highway, even combined with going down hill, and have never experienced fade.

Actually pretty good. Smooth step in, but really bite if pressed hard. I do have much more pedal now with the rears swapped out. I was suprised how thin they were!
I upgraded, I got the Hawk EPS pads from Tire Rack, (see the top photo). I have the Hawk EPS front and rear.
fk coilovers, VR6 top mounts, eibach anti roll bars, powerflex bushes all round, strut braces front and rear, audi tt front brake callipers and carriers, brembo 312mm cross drilled front discs, brembo cross drilled rear discs, mintex fast road pads all round. goodridge brake hoses all round.
I liked my Ferodos, my bro tried the Ferodo DS 2000's and he gave them mixed reviews.
I upgraded to Mintex redbox pads and ATE Powerdiscs on the car (Golf GL). After about 1/2 year, the pedal started vibrating - warped discs, I assume. Also, the brakes seem to lock up relatively easily.
