Second they said that she needed a new rear window wiper blade. The cost for this? $67 or so. I bought a new one at the local auto parts store for $10.85. A 13mm wrench and 10min later and that was on.

Tbf the b6 passat will probably rust away just by existing before the engine gives up. That being said, 1.4tsi engine is not great not terrible. Many problems with them are caused by lack of maintenance and by cheap oil filters.
The halogen headlights are not good at all. The visibility on low beam is poor and I almost have to rely on high beam. I am planning to upgrade but would like to know what others recommend.
However don't drive short journeys as the dpf blocks up. Personally petrol is a better option, I own a diesel and it's not great.
My car had a genuine accident: A bike hit my rear bumper. I lightly hit a pole from the front (damaging the bumper underlining + front light). Insurance approved only ₹35,000 for the genuine front damage.
