Brake discs Centric or POWER STOP
I did use a set of Centric rotors on one of the German cars, so far so good.
We had the first instance of warped rotors at 15k and the dealer resurfaced them under warranty. Then at 25k it sounded like a NYC subway train pulling into the station at slow stops. Returned to the dealer to be told that they wouldn't work on the brakes again without us replacing the pads and rotors on our dime. I believe the rotors were getting glazed. Decided to go with the PowerStop drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads, replaced them at home and we've been very happy for another 10k. Improved brake performance and as quiet as can be.
I absolutely love mine on my 2015. Normally an OEM guy on other Lexus/Toyota trucks but after not being satisfied and doing lots of research decided to give [these](https://a.co/d/1SkJLV5) a try. It’s been about 10k miles now and I’m very impressed. Would 100% recommend.
Edit: adding that not only is the brake performance excellent, the fact that they don’t rust is a huge plus!
I'm not a track guy, but centric premium blanks are what I use based on s2ki recs, if your feeling fancy, I've heard good things of girodisk 2 piece rotors. Obviously, tracking you'll want to replace blanks more often, but centric blanks are cheap and plenty.
I put centric coated rotors and Akebono pads on my 2016 and have not had pulsing in 40k.
I've used the power stop and semi-coat rotors for many years on my truck and suv. Definitely notice a difference with the coating on the rotors being somewhere that the roads get salted in the winter. The pads have a good lifetime on them and have never had any issues.
I do oem for nearly everything. Rotors are not one of them. PowerStop Evolution rotors are OE weight and quality with a zinc coating for corrosion at a decent price. I think I'm on my 4th set over a decade and two cars.
Short answer, oem rotors are not worth it. Brake pads and rotors are one of the areas the aftermarket is great at. I have been happy with Power Stop geomet fully coated rotors. They cost basically the same or a dollar or two more vs the semi coated on rockauto.
Centric makes ones that are painted black. I clean them up with brake cleaner and tape off the pad contact area, then use engine enamel spray paint to add an additional coat. I’m up in New England and one winter will do this to rotors. I do the same when I have to replace calipers. Lasts at least 3-4 years In my experience
PowerStop Rotors warped after 5 months . Luckily they warrantied it . Go OEM for anyone doing tundra upgrade .
