As some others have said, make sure you only get the remanufactured Denso alternator. No other alternator seems to work.
Owner reviews for alternator
I replaced the alternator on my 2012 Odyssey the day before yesterday. Rebuilt Denso (I saw several suggestions online to -not- stray from Denso for this vehicle). was\\~$250 at Napa, after I got my core deposit back.
I'm using a MK2 Golf alternator. It has the correct mount width, and has the right frame to mate up with the nice rack and pinion style adjustment bracket also from the MK2 Golf.
You can get a Bosch alternator for a KA and swap the pulleys
Any time I see overvoltage faults I replace the alternator. Check the charging voltage and confirm that it's charging higher than 15.0v (it may happen only briefly under some conditions). If it is then unplug the connector from the alternator. That should default it to 14.3v. If it still overcharges then you've confirmed a faulty alternator.
Always buy ac delco OEM alternators not part store crap.
I have an 06 H3. I had an alternator swapped and the factory recall on the HVAC pigtail done. Other than that no issues in the last 200k miles.
I've had 3 issues with the car: 3. recently - replace alternator (the car just knows I'm about to retire it).
We have been having a lot of trouble with Bosch reman alternators and starters in the last couple years. Pretty sad, used to be great stuff. Now all the boxes say made in china and everything is crap.
And while I dont recall Hyundai being one of them, there are certain make/models that need an OEM alternator or they just wont work right (i.e Duralast Alternator in a BMW X5=bad idea)
