Got my car fixed today! Steering feels very tight now. Maybe a little too tight. I tested it out there at the dealership parking lot and though it doesn’t make that creaking noise anymore, if I turn it to max either way, it sounds like a low scraping noise. Maybe just needs a bit of movement to loosen up? Responds well though. Otherwise, driving feels good. Feels like I have it on Sport mode with how stiff the steering wheel feels. They did a wheel alignment with it and the job took roughly 4-5hrs. I tried LKAS on the highway and it felt good. Wasn’t ping ponging all dramatically like it was. Letting go of the steering wheel for a couple seconds on a straight felt good. No subtle shift to the left like it did. Otherwise, just moving the steering wheel doesn’t make any creaks so that’s a plus. Glad it got done.

A friend installed a 2016 Golf R dynamic steering rack into my 2017 Alltrack S. Ready to go back under the car. Went from 2.8 (linear) to just less than 2 turns (variable) lock to lock. Got a chance to drive it hard and am super happy with this!

I got that message in my Model X when avoiding some debris by ditching over the median, steering didn't get heavy and after shutting down the car and rebooting the MCU it went away, definitely different than this and the investigation

Tesla was able get me towed directly to a SC. They replaced the steering rack and realigned tires. Haven’t had an issue yet that was about 2 months ago.

Complete garbage. Sent a steer rack. Both inner tie-rods were bad. Time between receiving and install was past their 30 days, so no warranty. Total junk.

In my case the recall was completed on my FL5. The clicking started 2 weeks before my appointment but now the clicking noise is getting worst everytime when turning left or right.
